My Happy Story Of My New Service Dog In Training
|My friend Metta Bryan found my first Service Dog, Jetta many years ago when we were 20 years younger. I first met her in SLO, in health food store traning a dog for a gal in a wheelchare. At the time i was on a long 5 yr wainting list with Canine Companion. I needed a dog then becase i was losing my balance a liitle more than i liked. I just graudated from Cal Poly, I waited until i fiished school because i would time to train with a good smart dog trainer. I knew the time needed to train and change my lifestyle to have a dog with all the time. I was ready. I begged Metta to find my a pup. She was at first not sure because you can have 10 great pups to start the traing and end up with one pup to make all the needed reqirments. She finally agreed because Jetta was a perfect candiate. So all in Jetta's Journey.
Then my sweet Buddy boy comes into our pack and his story is the second book Lessons From Jetta. Bud gave me so much love for 13 year,my heart aches for him.I know he was ready to go and my house is not the same with out.
What keeps going forward my new boy Brusier, I was going to name him Blue after Jetta but I changed my mind because his was Bruce. It was good choice. I will nick name Baby Blue....... he loves he loves siting on laps cuddling in bed, etc.
Our first meeting and traing went great. Metta said that he can do this and more importanly wants to it. So Metta sends me updates and we talk often and Bruiser talks somtimes too.

All Good Things Come To An End
My sweet dog crossed over the rainbow bridge June 30. I miss him. Even in his last days he wanted to play and engage with my dear friends who said their last goodbyes. Every morning he still played the game we played his entire life. I got on floor with him and rubbbed his strong chest and then all over and his head. Buddy had a habit of rubbing his body on the bedding and the on me. He made a delightful sound of joy and he barked to play and then kissed me with his wet large tongue. I closed my eyes with pleaure and love.
Bud was in great shape for being almost 14. He got up some time but is was getting hard for him. He was losing his eye sight but still was the proud brave dog he always had been. I knew his time was close. My prayers for the timing of his last day was PERFECT! He was ready to go. He was smiling the whole morning. He knew that Mom would take of him. When you love your dog you do the right thing. Buddy never liked going to the vet clinic. My vet came to my house so Buddy could have a peaceful death. Buddy left died on my bed in my arms. It was a joyful moment when the Lion of dog left his old body. Buddy is young again in heaven with Jetta running and digging his giant holes. The lanscape of the beach is changed because of his passion for digging that started when he was a pup. I couldn't run him on the beach so I taught him a game. The digging game. I would say, Buddy dig, dig dig."
I can't wait till he greets me with a big sloppy kiss!
And he did. What a good Boy! https://photos.app.goo.gl/dXrPVPFzjDAdAmnE6

Happy Easter
Happy Easter, The day of celebrtation. I saw my freinds at mass from church. We have mass outside. The service was nice. I took old Bud a short walk and now is sleeping and I am getting ready for dinner plans. And next week i start fund raising for next service pup. The next years should be when the dog is fully trained for me. Don't know what kind of dog. Most likely a Lab or Golden. In meantime I am enjoying every day I get with Buddy. He keeps me happy. God Bless ---peace.

Don't Tell Buddy How Old He Is
This day Buddy did not want to stop playing outside even he had to have been tired. He barked and barked so loud the whole neighors hear a block away at the beach. Two minutes later Bud was sleeping like an Angel. I am so blessed for each day with him.

OId Dog Loves His Ball
Ever day now Bud wants to play in our yard. He plays and loves to play until he decides he has had enough fun and then he goes in. Today he brought his dirty ball in the clean house. He does't care about clean or dirty just enjoys the play time. ( Note he is sleeping on Jetta old cover. ) Thank God for Dogs.

My Sweet Valentine Buddy
Ever day my Valentine gives me the best sloppy wet kisses every morning when i get on the floor with him for many body rubs. He goes nuts with joy. It is my pleasure to make him happy. Last week i notice his toe nails started getting a bit long because i heard a click, click on the street. Then he did not seem happy on walks.
This morning we took him to local groomer at Un Leashed Liza. Has a nail clinic sat from 9 -10 am. She trimed his toes nail and i know he is much happier.
When a dog grows old because of neurological reasons they start wakling on side of their feet in the rear end. It common but i hate it! But Bud is in great shape and it's a part of life --getting older......bummer. Bud is so white that you can't get his age by gray fur. Jetta my black Lab was so white at 11 you could she was old. Bud is my special boy. Thank God, for allowing me to love Bud for all these years.

Old Bud Back At The Beach
Bud is aging fast, he is still strong willed and a little pampered, but that's his nature. The local beach stair has been hard for him to climb two flights of stair and walk selveral blocks to the beach acces on my scooter. Today we got a car ride to the beach by the pier where he had a ramp to use. He played with his big sticks and barked with exictment, his bark is so loud it starling. He played and when he came back to the car he was tired, but happy.
Each day i sob over his aging process. I sit on our beach stairs while is home sleeping and sob, and sob remnbering his life on the beach.
Dogs don't mind getting old WE do! I can't be sad and cry around him.Dogs live in the monent. All Bud is thinking About now is WHEN IS DINNER ?
I tell him soon sweet love, soon.
