Today Bud swam again in his favorite place. "Bud's Bay." I constantly keep Bud sharp with his commands. When nearing the bay Bud starts crying with joy. Bud has to wait in the car with door open to get out. Only after he hears from me or my helper, "Out." He jumped out once and had to get back in the car and wait. Bud forgets, he is so excited to swim. Carny, my helper, used a "Chuck-it". The ball sailed a long, long way. Bud jumped in. Bud started swimming and swimming. The tourist were stopping and saying "I've never seen a dog swim that far." I stood up and told Carny, "if He goes down your jumping in after him." He had two balls in his mouth causing him to snort as he swam and swam. When Bud came out of the water everybody started clapping. After his long swim Bud laid down and to rest. I said jokingly, "Bad Carny making him swim so far." Bud came home happy and tired. Ready for his dinner.

In the photo, I'm with Bud at the bay and he gets obsessed with the ball. Sometimes he'll bark right in my face. He'll be really gets demanding and excited. To solve this problem my trainers have told me, "turn your back to them." "They don't get the ball until they're quiet, calm, and sitting." It might take a while, but I've tried everything I could think of. When he does this now, I sit quietly with my head down until he is calm and quiet. Whatever you do: DO NOT give them the ball just to shut them up. Get back to me with your comment on how you solve obsessive behavior in your dogs.

Jetta's voice before she went to heaven.
Mom loves her flowers. I found Mom a good friend, Lucas at the pool at Cal Poly. Lucas helped Mom in her garden allot. The love working in her garden, even when it rained one day. Lucas move away one day. I didn’t see him for a long time. When he came to visit us he brought Mom some plants. He said that mom would love them. The next spring they bloomed. Mom loved them. Now see calls them Jetta flowers because I found Lucas for her. Mom loves her flowers and I love Mom.

This picture of Jetta and Bud is at Cal Poly pool, showing Jetta modeling good behavior for Bud. When Jetta's sequel comes out, you can read about Bud's aquanetics morning with Jetta. If you want to read about Jetta's aquanetics experience, go to Chapter 29 in her book. In the meantime you can be surprised when you read Bud's aquanetics story.

Bud has been acting out sometimes on our daily morning beach play and training times. Bud has barked twice now before we start walking. I take the ball and give it to him, then he runs down the stairs and when I get to the bottom of the stairs he barks loudly and demands that I play right then. Bud has more energy lately. When he barks so rudely I say one time, "Quiet." Then I sit down and say nothing and do nothing. I wait until he sits nicely before I play with him.....I can't stand rude dogs especially service dogs. This picture is of a good calm Bud getting one of his favorite treats, a little lick of almond butter from my finger.
