Who Is An Opportunistic Feeder Or Kefir Bandit?

Dogs have survived for decades because are opportunistic feeders. Dogs and wolves have gone hungry and they learned when the food is there you better eat or somebody else will. When I get my dinner ready and when I am watching a movie I set my food and drink on my ottoman. Well, some dog took a drink of my kefir before I came  back into the room. Who do you think it was? A hint is that Bud would drank the whole cup and I only had Batman and Robyn were in the room at that time.Don't let this 7 pound cutie fool you. I do love this pup.  Shown in the back ground another sample of the opportunist feeders is Batman licking out of the yougert contaner that Bud dragged from the trash,  Dogs got to be dogs.

Bud Makes Cal Poly Students Happy

One of my joys about having a service dog is that at Cal Poly many students over Jetta's life time and now in Buds life. Many student upon going to college they had to leave the family dog home. When Jetta would be hanging out waiting for to shower and change students laid down next to her and they loved Jetta and they got to hug and pet a dog. One of the many reasons for my book it that working dog serve a purpose by being ambassadors of love. I try to share Bud as often as I can. In picture shows Bud playing with a college student who need kisses because he left his at home with his folks. Cole's mom breed dogs and he couldn't get enough of Bud kisses. Cole and friends Chris and John are away from their families and are a little bored with most of the students gone for the break until fall quarter.  Bud likes holding a ball in his mouth because he is semi-retired you know and he gets bored just waiting.

My Other Love, Ackerman The Boxer

There is a great dog, Akcerman, who when I see him on the beach I stop for his soft gentle kisses. He is so handsome. I have a weakness for the breed because as a child I played with my Dad's boxers. I was told because was a baby crawling around with the dogs. My folks had one boxer at a time and they told me that when Mom feed the dog left over table scraps to the dog that the loving boxer shared his food with me. I think now that's why I love them so much. What a wonderful breed. Every day I look forward to see this beautiful boy.
If I didn't Labs I would chose Boxers they are very special. I love Ackerman's personality,he wants to play with Bud at the beach but is focused on the ball and digging his wholes.
He's 3 years old. Bob and Kelly got him from a back yard breeder in San Lorenzo, CA.  They have had him since he was 8 weeks old.  Ever since he was old enough (4 mo.s) his regular day includes two outings, usually to the beach.  Like all boxers he's a clown and makes them laugh every day.
Boxers originated in Europe, more specifically Germany during the 16th century. They were used to hunt large game such as bear cubs, deer, and boar. Their powerful jaws and recessed nose made them great hunting dogs as they could easily breathe while hunting. Boxers are renowned for its faithfulness. They are patient and good with children. They are alert and courageous and all around great dogs. Look at these hunk of dog! Bud does not get jealous which is very good thing, Look at Puppy Ackerman!!Those jowls that face, what a cutie pie.

Bud's Other Boo Boo

Bud while playing with my new staff at Cal Poly pool got hurt when he was going for the ball and stepped in a drain and broke a toe nail and started bleeding. The vet wrapped the paw up and said no play for Bud for two weeks. Poor Bud ! This is the fifth time he has done this. I don't know why his toe nails are so fragile.  Good news the vet put him on antibiotics and he does not have to be wearing "the dreaded cone of shame". Now they have stinky gel that tastes so bad they don't lick it.

Down time is necessary and some what a blessing because I don't feel guilty being lazy pazy. The time always goes fast. I use the time to work on my next book. Shown here is hopeful Bud wanting to go play at our beach.

Santa Comes To Caycous

The holiday spirit is strong at our beach. Our neighbor dresses up and walks the beach with his reindeer --
dog. The sunny day feels good to Santa as a much needed change from ice and snow.
