These Hot Days Bud Loves Mom's Preety New Floor

I finally changed my flooring from all carpet except the kitchen and bathrooms. I chose a product that was pretty and functional. At first I know Bud miss the old carpet this inspired a story in my next book untitled "I hate Mom's new pretty floor."
I noticed that Bud does like the cool floor in these hot days. He is happy to be be on a cool floor. I had my bedroom and office carpet with a soft, soft carpet for him to lay on and Gracie to roll on.

I tell Buddy that he almost matches my new pretty floor. He agrees the new floor can stay. The only problem is that is shows dog slobber better than my old sad gray carpet!  I pay the price for loving, and living with dogs that I keep the paper towel handy. I live happily with dog hair and slobber. It's a good reason to vacuum and mop often, I like a clean house but cannot not live without my dogs!

Gracie Meets Turbo

There is a new pup in town his name is Turbo. He was adopted from Woods Humane Society,
he is Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua.  Jack Russells come from North Brittany.  They were meant to work first and foremost in the country to explore the land in  search of rats, pole cat or weasels. They are tough feisty dogs who are good with other dogs and children. They will defend their home to their death. They are loyal and affectionate, they would not be pushed around by bigger dogs. I have know several and I liked them but the were trouble makers for be not having a job, they are very smart and if not exercised enough they dig out their yard and go looking for adventure.I think God made them so cute so their owners would not kill them.
The Chihuahua are an ancient breed honored and loved by their owners. These dogs are not so frail as they look. They do well in the Mexican desert with extreme heat and bitter cold. They are smart and loyal to their owners. Gracie is Skye Terrier and Bearded Collie both breed are working dogs and have a strong desire to watch their herd, Gracie sits and guards the yard and she is very protective of me. I'm very pleased to watch Gracie learning dog manners with the first circle sniff approach. Gracie has made much progress with normal dog behavior. She lets other dogs sniff her before she would jump with fear and go after them.I know Gracie is working hard and it has been my blessing to help her.
I am sure that we will do more of this work soon. I have been working with her for a year and a half. I am so happy for Gracie. This gives me hope for her to be rid of her fears from her abuse.

The Golden Retriever originated in the early 19th century. It was developed after a long line of breeding from the Newfoundland, Tweed water spaniels and the Irish setter. The ultimate goal was to develop a breed of hunting dog that was big enough and had the endurance to hunt and retrieve a large number of game birds at a time. The Golden Retriever became quite popular with British nobility not only for its hunting and retrieving abilities, but because it was such a great companion. It is an excellent bird dog, and considered to excel in both land and water retrieval. The breed is so eager to please that it also makes an excellent search and rescue dog.

I know a Golden Retriever from my neighborhood that's one of our friends, his name is Sparky. The owners of Sparky went to a breeder. The parents were champion show dogs. Sparky is 10 now. The bond I see with the owners is very special. Here he is as a puppy and an adult. Sparky is one of the lucky ones to get a home, they adore him. The love is tremendous for this dog. He is a handsome boy and very sweet. I am very pleased to know him. I love Golden's they are great dogs.  The last picture of them together shows the intimacy the dogs love and crave, beautiful.

Slowly, Dave her human walked her one block, then two blocks and finally she got to go back on favorite beach much to the neighborhood dogs  We all love Ginger and when she came back all the local dog tails were wagging. It was so nice to see her over here active again and I do love those sweet kisses.

Some Things Never Change!

Bud a has a way about him that is sweet and vulnerable and over sensitive. Bud has always been a knucklehead ! Here you see him when he was just a young pup still with his breeder. I would not change him if I could. He keeps me laughing. We see puppy Bud and adult is now old enough too figure things out. The object in his mouth is the outside frizzbe ............when He brings in it the house I remind him the that toy stays in the yard not in the house. I not have figure to teach a dog to tell which toy is for in the house. But actually it really doesn't matter!  My lover boy makes my life sweeter.

Gracie Worried About Me

Gracie has bonded to me and I am so happy she knows where to go when she is afraid. This morning I was on the bedroom floor doing my exercises like each day and Elisa, one of my caregivers came in the and Gracie heard her voice louder than normal Gracie followed her into the bedroom and layed on me. Bud got in the room to kiss me because silly boy likes to lick my sunblock off.
Gracie spends alot time guarding the house in the front yard. I notice she comes in looking to make sure I'm here.
Gracie took a long time, over one year to bond because of her being abused for her person I believe. Gracie has transformed before our eyes to be happy sweet love bug. That's why I named her Gracie for Amazing Grace, I love that song. She came to me a bad mess and know she is an angel.( Well almost, she does have a mind of her own that's the Terrir in her --she can't help it) Bud kisses me when I am on the floor in the morning. He wants to play. I am so in love with my dogs, they make my life full of love all the time!

He wakes up with me and shares his day with me. Bud has grown to be a late bloomer now;  he  scenes when I am hurting he knows and helps me by walking slow with me on leash at the pool. He agrees to work there because he gets to carry his ball where I swim most every day. The students love to see him.  My handsome boy, Happy Birthday Baby!!!!!!!! PS little Gracie got to share a bite of burger because that's what good pack members do.

My Dog Is Embaressing Me

Recently I had a dinner party with my close friends.  While we visited two friends were siting on Bud's sofa. Bud LOVES his sofa. I watched him pacing back and forth to the den. He came into the living room. Finally he came in to the living room and just put his head on the sofa. After a minute or two he put one leg up very carefully not to hurt the girl sitting there. Then he slowly carefully put his other leg and pulled his self up and slowly laid his body on the the people sitting there. Then he feel asleep with a big smile on his face!

Bud Does Know The Difference

The world revoles  around Bud; he has outside only toys  and inside only toys.  I was having company and Bud got so excited by more people coming to see him. Of the house was spotless for a dinner party. The floor is clean and wouldn't you know Bud drops an outside toy. Oh well my house is a dog house and would rather have my sweet boy over clean floors and day !

Bud's Traumatic Evening

It was laundry day in Bud's house. We have a new slip cover for the old sofa (Bud's sofa) that we took off to wash. My worker decided to put a chair on the couch so Bud wouldn't get up there and get it dirty without the cover on it. I told my worker not to do it because I knew Bud would be traumatized. I told her a blanket would be better, but she put the chair anyway, and Bud was beside himself. See for yourself the trauma Bud had to endure for 45 minutes while the slip cover was being washed. I think Bud will need therapy for many months for this one.

Dog Manners 101 Sniff Test

Gracie was gone for hours to be groomed and Lesa at Unleashed in Caycous. It was such a good job on Gracie that Bud didn't now it was the same dog. Grace can be cranky in the early morning but she hates cleaning around her eyes. Gracie seems happy to be free of all the hair. Before the cut she got burs and sticks in her fur. Thank you Lisa for working hard on her I 'm going to keep her short. She is happy and she is very loving. Until a dogs sniff her behind. She was on her on the streets of LA. She learned how to defend herself. The other day I saw her kiss Bud on the lips,  watch closely !
Now Gracie has her great stylus !!!

Life Is Good

Bud is a happy dog. I love my dog so I take good care of him. Recently I purchased slip covers because the leather love seat has been destroyed by his nails and age... It has been his spot for the nine years of his life. The love seat had been damaged from his nail etc. Some people don't let their dogs on the furniture. I see why now. Bud has a cozy crate in my office where I do my writing which is a lot of time every day. Bud has a large memory foam bed in the living room as well.
Bud goes on the love seat to look out the front window. I didn't think it was possible he could love that spot even more! the slip covers are quilted pad and extra cushy. He loves it the only problem is that Gracie, who has a cozy crate in my bedroom and a basket with soft blankets, wants to also lay on the love seat now.
Miss Gracie found this love seat too irresistible! Bud is good natured about it but afraid of Gracie's grouchy mornings. What to do, what to do?

Mom's New Floor

Mom got new floors. I was happy with the old floor. I could lay on the floor when i was wet and Mom let me and sis Gracie clean up her dinner in the living room. She let me wait by the kitchen table drooling while waiting for her to give me her egg yolk and she let me clean up the bowl of yogurt and little Gracie licks the spoon.
But now I don't know what to do or where to go. She keeps saying no drooling on her new floor. You used to love my drool? you said you love it? where do I go? Thank goodness there's still carpet in this house!
Gracie says I love the floor! it feels so good on my back. Mom always gets mad though and says I bring sticks and dirt in from the yard.
Mom caves when Gracie is gone, she lets me lick the bowl again in the living room but says I have to try and not make a mess. Mom had one of her helpers buy a mat for the floor so that when I wait for food in the morning my drool doesn't get all over her precious floor. Mom says Gracie and I are more important than having a clean house..

Mom's Office Day Is So Borng That Bud Naps

I love writing but I dread office work; you know like paying bills and files papers, making appointments etc. I would much rather take Bud to the beach or get Gracie exercised. Anything to get me out of the house! The other day I was working at my desk with a helper and I lost track of the time. It had been 3 hours. I didn't know that Bud was in the room until we finished.  Look at sweet boy Bud he has his own private suite including a private curtain... look closely at his curtain! custom homemade
I spent the rest  of the afternoon outside. I LOVE watching Bud play. Bud is the best digger in the history of great diggers, he is the BEST.

Dexter House Guest

My new neighbor's dog is a very sweet boy. He spent the night and the next day he could not resist himself to food on the counter top. The story is, that my helper left the house  with him in the house alone. She left plates of chicken and quinoa while walking Gracie. Well the rest is very predicable............dogs are opportunistic feeders.  So of course he thought how nice of Denise  to leave food at his nose level.....
Dexter is a mix Catahoula dog from Louisiana  the dogs are bred to climb trees to corner raccoons ....so getting food on the counter was eazy pesy! The next day he gave me flowers and an apology ..............he could not help himself ..........that is really in his nature .
The Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog is believed to have originated from Nordic Wolfhound being introduced some three to five hundred years before the Spanish arrived, however, no one will really know for sure. The state of Louisiana is cited as the point of origin, particularly the area of Catahoula. In 1979, the breed was designated the state dog of Louisiana. The Catahoula was named after a Parish in northeastern Louisiana and after the mottled spots on its coat. At one time this breed was used to round up feral pigs and cattle—livestock that had escaped, and was living in woods and swamps. It involved team effort that is highly coordinated and organized, fast paced, dangerous and a marvel to watch. The ideal dog team usually numbers three, and they must work together. Otherwise, one pig can kill all three in a matter of minutes. Each dog has to be aware of what the pig and the other two dogs are doing and react accordingly. Hunters sometimes used the Catahoula to trail and tree raccoons, but this dominant breed is more at home acting the thug with obstinate boars. This dog is used particularly on the difficult task of driving and rounding hogs and unruly cattle.

I will forgive any boy who gives me flowers for anything. He is a sweet boy!
