Jetta is an old dog now and her life has changed since her retirement. Jetta goes in the car with us whenever possible, but she misses a lot of the action. When we go to the pool she sleeps while Bud watches me. She has trouble with stairs to the beach unaided. So my helpers carry her up the beach stairs. She loves the extra attention. I sit with her on the beach and give her rubs while Bud swims.I enjoy watching Jetta greet people. She sniffs for cookies with no shame. Jetta likes to sit outside in the evening in the dark, still night and meditate. I think she is meditating because she is so Zen like. Jetta has a fabulous good nature about her that makes her calm. I wish I could be more like her.

Bud’s New Best Friend
My best friend, Jake doesn’t come over anymore to play. Koda is with Jim. Not here to play with me. Mom has a new helper. He brought his new puppy, Bubba, to socialize. Puppies learn manners from other older dogs. The first time he came to our house he got on my dog bed. I growled at him.
Mom said, “No Bud he is just a silly puppy. You need to be nice to him. One of these days he will be way, way bigger than you.”
“Okay Mom, just keep him off my bed.” Mom said, “Nice dogs share their toys because it’s polite pack behavior.”
Moms said, “Watch out for old Jetta girl. You guys could bump her.”
“Okay Mom we’ll try, but it is so much fun playing with him.”
Bubba gets bigger every time we play. We wrestled and wrestled and wrestled. He bites my legs and then I bite his legs, he rolls over with me and we roll and roll and bite and bite. I chase him around the house and he chases me around the house.
Mom said “I call a time out! You boys are too rough! Go rest!”
“Go rest? Oh man. This was just getting good.” Boys play rough. Okay, we’ll take a break.
“Come on Bubba lets drink from the fountain in the front yard.” We go out to the yard to have a drink. We put our paws up to reach the water. I feel like a boy dog. Jetta never did this. We come in and run around and roll and chase. “Man Bubba has a lot of energy.”
After I played more, I get tired. I went to my crate for a nap.
Moms sat at her desk and said, “Had enough Bud?”
“Yes for now, that puppy has worn me out. I guess I’m not as young as I used to be.” I see Bubba waiting for me out my crate. I’m glad the crate is made for one dog.

I think old dogs get sly because they have been around for awhile and life is easy because they sleep allot, and maybe they have more time to think about being naughty. Today a friend left the side garage door open, where I keep a cat box and a small bucket with a handle so it's easy for me to keep the cat box clean. Early in the day I cleaned out it put some cat poop in the bucket. Jetta, after she finishing her dinner went outside and did not come back into the house. Since it's raining,I went out to see where the old girl was. I saw the garage door was open. I stepped into the garage and was shocked to see Jetta standing there with her entire head stuck in the bucket. She couldn't get her head out the bucket! I was I had a camera. Please tell me your stories about your naughty dogs. Who ever posts, will win a trip to come have a fun at the beach.

Bud is a very handsome dog. People often stop on the beach to take pictures of him at play. Resently a woman visiting from Vermont was taken by Bud so much that she took picture after picture of him. I told her about Jetta's book. Jetta was home because of her last surgery and can't go to the beach yet. My idea is to have you guys blog and send cute pictures to my blog site then we came post them on facebook. I'm an computer idiot. Please bear with me. We can have a contest and every one who responds wins an all expenses play day at the beach with our pack.
