Why I Take Bud To Warm Water Therapy

Buddy is a old dog he sometimes starts to lose his footing on walk. Bud is great shape for his age. Buddy has arthrits, from old age like me. He is on the best meds avaialbe. Of course i keep his weight at 74 lbs. Perfect! I walk him slow for about 20 mins on day and the next day we go to the beach. The way we go is 4 or 5 blocks to the beach stairs. The Bud barks for a ball in his then he takes the stairs one step a a time. He goes 2 flight down and 2 flights. Down on the beach he goes for a frizbe toss. not too far just so he can get his workout. I stop him in 15 min and when he climbs the stairs up he rests the he gets a drink of cool water..... he walks home slow but steady. We get home he takes a nap until dinner time. After dinner he wants to play for 10 minutes or so. ..Bud is a special boy. He has swam all his life. Look how good his legs go in the water. He gives me kisses after our towel game. This makes me happy. Swimming will keep his hind legs strong for as long as possible. I do water therapy too. it has kept me going for 73 yr and counting...................love my Buddy !

Miss My Swimming

My life and body feel happy when i am in the pool. Sadly the pool is closed again until January !! Bummer ..........i go thru withdrawls. Buddy swims at Splas he is the lucky pup. I will survive 6 weeks. I survied 6 months. I love my new swim jacket my present to myself for my bithday was a swim jacket because i swim year long even when its cold out. Every one needs to be safe.

Thankful My Many Blessing

Bud had his anually vet check up,blood work etc. I could not be with him because of the virus. The tech had to drag him in. Bud whines and carries on like a baby. I blame that on his painful injuies in the past. After the exam the vet called to tell me that he would never guess is 13 --he said he though he was 5 yrs younger. I love this dog will all my heart. I keep him moving at the beach most every day. And after dinner we play play Fribee in the yard. Bud is a strong active happy old guy. Bud is my most presioc blessing. I thank God for his good health each day. Happy Thanks Thankgiving to all my loving family and friends.

Bud Is Back At Splash

Jetta swam at Splash when she got to be a senior dog. Swimming is the best exercise for their back legs. Splash is a pool for dogs its 86%. I wish i could get in with Bud. It pricey but i know that this is good for Bud. I am not able to take Bud to the bay. Bud's eyes are not as clear as when he was younger and it is hard for a dog to see where the ball is over the glare of sun. He gets happy when we drive up to her place. Chris is great.

Stroy Of A Stray --Lucy

Lucy has a sad past but her life is beautuful but she does have issues. I met her 3-4 years ago when a niegbor got her at my local dog and cat rescue. She was found in a field under a barn shelter with another dog. No one knows how long or if the dog was her pup. She was sweet and lovable, but She is a wanderer. If she sees an open gate, she takes a walk around the neigborhood. No good. Last week I took care of her for a week. I made sure than she had plently of exercise. The last hour of her visit, somehow my gate got left open and luckly I went oustside with Bud for his after dinner romp. Much to my shock i saw the gate open and NO Lucy !! Luckly she was down the street following a gal with her dog. When you love a stray it means that you have your life to help this stray have a good long Next week I am getting security power gate with a lock. I will have a buzzer and remote.I have been wanting this for awhile.Bud will never leave his yard but dogs will follow their nose.

Old Dog Need His Play And Rest

Bud wants to play all the time even when he is tired. As the pack leader I now that he is 13 have changes some of his routines. I take him very other day to the beach where he hopes down 2 filths of stairs, some day we go two days and not the 3rd day.I go by how frizby he asks. Never when it too hot. The heat drains him...me too. We are oldtimers! He use to run down them. Now I hope my breath while he goes down the steep steps. I yell at him." Be careful one step at time.......you got this! Whe he gets to the sand i yell' Your the man you are the best!" I throw an old black frrizbee so he sees it better. He is smiling the entire time. Check out his tounge out in the yard with the fribzbee that we play with after dinner every day. Then he is tired and happy.I know that a tired dog is a happy dog. LOVE THIS LAB!!
