What A Good Boy
My training with Bruiser has been great. We go to the 16th street beach on my scotter. To be safe train gets the benchs where he has to wait until I back up the scooter, but he does what he has been been trained for for safety. We train that he has sit on the right side of the sidewalk so he is out of the way until I am close to the stairs to look at the beach before i let him run down the stairs. When we leave the commamnd is "UP UP" so I don't hurt him when I back up. I back up and when I am heading out the command is Lets Go. I then hook him up before crossing Pacific
The key to dog training is finding a good match .....My trainer knows me well for working with me 25 years ago with my first service pup,Jetta. Jetta wanted to work and her tenpermet was perfect. Mette the trainer saw that Bruiser ad a perfect temperamet also, she started working him. I have had him for 3 month Mette had him for 6 months.
Brusier is like a 2 yr old Lab he tells you all time he wants to play. I can't resit his charm...........he is a lover not a fighter.

My education studies --child and family studies has been great for dog traing. My boy and I are in the " falling in love.'We have lived toghther since Nov. We are still finding out about each other. He is the friejndlist dog I have loved and trained. He knows every thing about every body and used to getting his way because he is so loveable and smart. He has an opioun on many things and we he feels that its time he will tells you his story.
He has masterd most all his comands he is smart. He is food motivate. He often acts like a 2 year old pup. When he does't mind me he has his curiosrty to explain why he disbeyed. My job is understand him thinking. I keep the trainig focused on food and praise. He respons well. When train him at the cemtertay he MUST check out the dog park no matter if i am ready....as his runs at one point he makes is mind up that the time is right on his ouw and runs so fast I can't stop him. The gate is closed and somtimes he gets to play sometimes no. Today he sprinting and i blew my whistle which means come to me now. If hears it a waits until he is done sniffing our the things that dog he does not get a treat. I went the other way fast on my scotter, he came running fast as he could. What a good boy.
I got him a new colar and he was so exicted. He was happy he ran in circles and rubbed against me. I figure he loves the new life as my dog, his old family got the old colar for him. I picked bold orange so I see him in a group of dogs. I aslo got an orange relfex colar if by chance I am delayed in coming home during winter months he will seen by drivers on our way home. My new life with new boy Bruiser
Bruiser has been a pleasure ever monent of our busy day of traning and play time and sleep time. He has learned much to help my life. He has a sence of humor and a opion on when we need to play and when he gets treats. He tends to want to sit on my pillow or clothes if their on the bed. He runs so fast I can't belive it. His long legs and slim body moves like a race horse. He climbs the rocks at the beach like a like goat.
He eats like a Lab who is never full. He is has been easy to train where Mette, my dog trainer left my job to fine tune him for me. I took over He love everyone and all dogs. He will kill a toy if i don't take it away. When i take it away he minds me. He is next to me most of the time. He is easy to love.

My Happy Story Of My New Service Dog In Training
|My friend Metta Bryan found my first Service Dog, Jetta many years ago when we were 20 years younger. I first met her in SLO, in health food store traning a dog for a gal in a wheelchare. At the time i was on a long 5 yr wainting list with Canine Companion. I needed a dog then becase i was losing my balance a liitle more than i liked. I just graudated from Cal Poly, I waited until i fiished school because i would time to train with a good smart dog trainer. I knew the time needed to train and change my lifestyle to have a dog with all the time. I was ready. I begged Metta to find my a pup. She was at first not sure because you can have 10 great pups to start the traing and end up with one pup to make all the needed reqirments. She finally agreed because Jetta was a perfect candiate. So all in Jetta's Journey.
Then my sweet Buddy boy comes into our pack and his story is the second book Lessons From Jetta. Bud gave me so much love for 13 year,my heart aches for him.I know he was ready to go and my house is not the same with out.
What keeps going forward my new boy Brusier, I was going to name him Blue after Jetta but I changed my mind because his was Bruce. It was good choice. I will nick name Baby Blue....... he loves he loves siting on laps cuddling in bed, etc.
Our first meeting and traing went great. Metta said that he can do this and more importanly wants to it. So Metta sends me updates and we talk often and Bruiser talks somtimes too.

All Good Things Come To An End
My sweet dog crossed over the rainbow bridge June 30. I miss him. Even in his last days he wanted to play and engage with my dear friends who said their last goodbyes. Every morning he still played the game we played his entire life. I got on floor with him and rubbbed his strong chest and then all over and his head. Buddy had a habit of rubbing his body on the bedding and the on me. He made a delightful sound of joy and he barked to play and then kissed me with his wet large tongue. I closed my eyes with pleaure and love.
Bud was in great shape for being almost 14. He got up some time but is was getting hard for him. He was losing his eye sight but still was the proud brave dog he always had been. I knew his time was close. My prayers for the timing of his last day was PERFECT! He was ready to go. He was smiling the whole morning. He knew that Mom would take of him. When you love your dog you do the right thing. Buddy never liked going to the vet clinic. My vet came to my house so Buddy could have a peaceful death. Buddy left died on my bed in my arms. It was a joyful moment when the Lion of dog left his old body. Buddy is young again in heaven with Jetta running and digging his giant holes. The lanscape of the beach is changed because of his passion for digging that started when he was a pup. I couldn't run him on the beach so I taught him a game. The digging game. I would say, Buddy dig, dig dig."
I can't wait till he greets me with a big sloppy kiss!
And he did. What a good Boy! https://photos.app.goo.gl/dXrPVPFzjDAdAmnE6
