Meet Jake Mc Nab - Jack Russel Mix

Jake is 10 weeks old and he is actually too young to be out where many other dogs play because he has not had his complete series of vaccines. His owners was on a road trip and they stopped in Morro Bay along the way. Jake was so cute and he liked hanging with the big dogs. Jake is a mix of Mc Nab and Jack Russell Terrier. Jack Russell Terriers orignated in the United Kingdom. The Jack Russell was used as a small game hunting dog particularly for red fox, digging the quarry of of its den in the mid-1800s. On English hunts, the dogs needed to be long-legged enough to keep up with the hounds. Breeders emphasized its working ability, so the standard was very broad, allowing a wide range of accepted body types.

The Jack Russell Terriers are loyal, and will defend their home to their death. As a rule they are good with children and other animals. The Jack Russell will stand its ground and will not be pushed around by other dogs. They need no encouragement to defend themselves. Without exercise they will get into a lot of trouble. They need both physical and mental stimulation daily. They are extremely tough little dogs. They are good in rocky terrain. They can jump from ledge to ledge. They will burrow through rat's and weasel's dens.
